We have built up our family estate over the years, in two historic villages of the Champagne region: Bouzy and Ambonnay.
Bouzy and its neighbour Ambonnay are located on the South slope of Montagne de Reims, East of Épernay, on a terroir of exceptional quality.
Renowned for the quality of their soil and the specificity of their climate, these villages combine exceptional conditions for the development of the Champagne grape varieties. This has earned them the coveted Grand Cru classification.
Coveted indeed: of the 319 villages listed in the Champagne region, only 17 benefit from it.
We only work Grand Cru vines, 2/3 of which are in Bouzy and 1/3 in Ambonnay, for a total of about 3ha (7,3 acres).
The average age of our vines is over 40 years, a significant age that we maintain with a view to perpetuating the level of quality and to controlling the yield.
Bouzy and Ambonnay, the two villages where we grow our grapes, are renowned for the exceptional quality of their Pinot Noir, the main cépage of this part of the Champagne region on Montagne de Reims.
Its reputation has spread around the world.
Pinot Noir, a black grape variety with white juice, thrives on this terroir, which gives it its full strength, beautiful structure and flavours of fruit.
Chardonnay expresses above all freshness and minerality, but it gains a certain intensity from this particular terroir, which makes it quite extraordinary in its unusual flavour.
Two thirds of our vines are Pinot Noir and one third is Chardonnay.
This mix of grape varieties allows us to make blended cuvées in which the fruitiness and strength of the black grapes are combined with the freshness of the white grapes. We also have single-varietal cuvées: a Blanc de Noirs (100% Pinot Noir) and a Blanc de Blancs (100% Chardonnay).
